question is:

Can all quadratic equations be solved by factoring?

Explain.

this was not taught in my course (or i dont remember) can someone please give me a moderately detailed answer.

thanks alot!

2. whoops, one more math question i need to be helped with

its a word problem about what time a ball will hit the ground

but the equation is:

h=-4.9t^2 + 19.6t

thanks again

i suppose h is the height of the ball. the ball is on the ground when the height is zero, so you simply need to solve:

$-4.9t^2 + 19.6t = 0$

you will get two values for $t$, choose the appropriate one

4. alright thank you

remember, if we can't factor then we can complete the square or use the quadratic formula.

as far as the height question goes. why don't you try it and tell me your solution
