    Algebra Explanation Needed

    Find the sum of two positive integers x and y such that dividing 3x + 5y gives a remainder of 4 and the sum x+y is minimal.

    Are you trying to say:

    \dfrac{3x}{5y} = z+4

    x+y = minimal~number

    Find x and y?

    No. I know that the answer to X+Y=3 but i'm not sure why. I think it is (3x+5y)/7= z remainder 4
