    Need Help With Function Notation

    The problem says:

    f(m)

    and the directions say:

    if f(x) = 6x + 7 and g(x) = x^2 - 4, find each value.

I can easily figure out problems that have numbers for the "(x)" but when there aren't any numbers for the second variable, I just can't figure out how to do it.

    if f(x) = 6x+7 , then f(m) = 6m+7

    that's all.
