# Math Help - Evaluating Functions

1. ## Evaluating Functions

Can someone confirm whether or not I came up with right answers for these?

1. f(y) = 5y - 3 ; f(2.4)
My answer: f(y) = 9

2. g(m) = 2m^2 - 18 / m^2 ; g(0)

3. h(q) =
q^2 + 20, q </= - 6
4q^2 + 20, q > -6
; h(-6)
My answer: h(q) = 56

4. g(s) =
s, s </= -1
s^2 + s, -1 < s </= 1
s^3 + s^2, s > 1
; g(-4/5)
My answer: g(s) = -4/25

Last one is obviously wrong, but I'm trying to figure out just what I did wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

why do you say the last one is wrong?

3. I wasn't expecting to come up with a fraction. I'm also not sure if I squared it correctly.
