Can someone please help me complete the following series?

1, 4, 5, 9, 13, 22, ___, ___

1,4,5,9,13,22,35,48 is a pattern that comes to mind with how its jumping every 2 digits. Don't count on that as the right answer

1+4=5
4+5=9
4+9=13
9+13=22
13+22=35
13+35=48

Trying using the sum of differences and the previous number in the sequence.

Are you saying something like this?

4-1=3+1(previous no.)=4
5-4=1+4(previous no.)=5
9-5=4+5(previous no.)=9
13-9=4+9(previous no.)=13
22-13=9+13(previous no.)=22

But then what will be the next no.?
