    Stuck on 'solve the equation...'

    Question is:

    Solve the equation x²-x-56=0

    I just don't know how to go around this..

    Can someone give me a simple step by step answer?

    x^2-x-56 = (x-8)(x+7)
    Make each one equal to zero.
