1. ## What is rt x/x^2 in the form x^n?

What is rt x/x^2 in the form x^n? So that the answer is x^something. Most importantly please explain how you work it out. Thanks.

2. $\frac{x}{x^2}=\frac{x}{x\times x} = \frac{1}{x}= x^{-1}$ ??

3. Don't you think it would help to tell us what "rt" means? I might guess it means "root" but then which root? Square root probably- that is normally written as "sqrt(x)", not just "rt(x)". And "rt x/x^2" leaves it unclear whether you mean sqrt(x)/x^2 or sqrt(x/x^2).

In any case, you need to know that $x^n/x^m= x^{m-n}$, that $(x^a)^b= x^{ab}$ and that $\sqrt{x}= x^{1/2}$

$\frac{\sqrt{x}}{x^2}= \frac{x^{1/2}}{x^2}= x^{1/2- 2}$.

$\sqrt{\frac{x}{x^2}}= \sqrt{x^{1- 2}}= \left(x^{-1})^{1/2}$.
