Thread: Help Needed - Complicated Number Pattern

Hi Guys,

I have rather a tricky number pattern here which need help from some maths expert.

The number sequence goes like this :

1st Term : 49
2nd term : 54
3rd Term : 41
4th Term : 66
5th Term : 25

Letting the Term to be denoted as 'n'.

Form an equation relating 'n' with the value of the term....

This question has been killing me !!

Been thinking for a few nights and am totally clueless on how to go.

Desperately need help from you guys ..

Need to submit to my teacher in 2 hours time =(

look at the difference between each terrm & 50

I saw the link between 50 and the nth term.

however, the addition and subtracting of the term is confusing me.

Any clue about that?

Use (-1)^n or (-1)^(n+1). This is a common "trick".
