    Transformation: finding new coordinates

    Consider the transformation f(x) ----> f(2x-1). Suppose a point on f(x) is f(3)=2.

    What is the new x-coordinate after the transformation to f(2x-1) ?

    The new x-coordinate after tranformation is 2\times 3-1 = 5 , the y-coordinate can only be found once you know the actual function for f(x)
