    Simple question

    I need to solve the problem below for all values of unknown. What are the steps to coplete this? Thanks!

    x^2+9=0

    If you have to solve the equation for x real, then the equation does not have solution.
    If you have to solve the equation in C(that is for x complex) then
    x^2+9=0
    x^2=-9
    x=+/-3i
