3a) if this pattern continued, how many thousands of metric tons of palm oil did Indonesia produce in 1977?
b) What is the radius of the snowball, if mass is 4000?

Have you made a scatter plot of the data? This should give you the shape/trend.

Have you seen the least squares regression model? Using such a model will give

I see what you are saying. Thanks it is a lot of help. But what type of function is this?

4. it is of the form y= A(x- B)+ C (A= 16.371, B= 1965 C= 171.9). That is the same as y= Ax+ (C- AB) or just y= mx+ b (with m= A, b= C- AB). Do you recognize what type of function that is?

If not, then what kind of functions can you recognize? (Since YOU are asked in this problem to identify the kind of functions you must know some!) Did you consider graphing the data given?
