    (1) Call the two numbers x and y.

    You are told that y = x + 4 and that x + y = 32.

    So x + x + 4 = 32

    2x + 4 = 32

    2x = 28

    x = 14.

    Therefore y= 18.

    The other problems follow a similar procedure.

    A better idea is to show what you have done and the answers you have gotten. Then I can steer you in the right direction if need be.

    Youre right at everything.

    Now for #4. You got a rectangel with lenght = x+7, and width = x.
    The perimeter is 74. And on this rectangle the perimeter is 2(x+7)+2x
    2(x+7)+2x=74 \rightarrow 4x+14=74 \rightarrow 4x=60 \rightarrow x=15.

    And the length was x+7 so the length is?

    The area is simply the A=l*w
