    Question Fractional part word problems--need help

    Only 3/5 of the students in the school came to hear the distinguished scholar. IF there were 1200 students in the school, how many came to hear the distinguished scholar?

    in math, "of" means multiply

    so 3/5 of the students = 3/5 * the students = 3/5 * 1200 = 720 students
