Thread: [SOLVED] perimeter

I need help on a real easy question I just want to make sure I am doing it properly......The question is A polygon is divided into 8 congruent squares. THe area of the polygon is 72 square feet . Find the perimeter.

total area = 72 square feet.
so area of one of eight congruent squares is 9 square feet.
so each square is 3 feet by 3 feet.

However it is impossible to determine the perimeter of te polygon because their are many configurations that meet the requirements but have different perimeters. Check out the attachement.
