find the coordinates of the vertex of the curve...
State the coordinates of the verex of the curve

$y=x^2+8x+15$

I have completed the square:

$y=(x+4)^2-1$

I dont understand what the question is asking for or how i can find it though, please explain.

Hi George321,

You have just put the general quadratic into vertex form:

$y=a(x-h)^2+k$

in which (h, k) happens to be the vertex.
