    simplify polynomial

    hello how would i simplify this fraction

    \frac {(x^4-y^4)}{(x-y)}

    Start by noting that x^4 - y^4 = (x^2)^2 - (y^2)^2 = (x^2 - y^2)(x^2 + y^2) = ....

    ok now that i have seen that would you proceed to do some cancellation to get rid of the denominator? can u show me by demonstration with this example?

    I'm expecting you to finish the factorising I started and then do the cancelling yourself ....
