Hi kapital,

$\frac{x^{2n-2}-1}{x^{2n}-x^{n+1}+x^{n-1}-1}=\frac{(x^{n-1}+1)(x^{n-1}-1)}{(x^{n+1}+1)(x^{n-1}-1)}=\frac{x^{n-1}+1}{x^{n+1}+1}$

To create mathematical symbols, go here for a tutorial on LaTex.

Hi, thanx for the link.

$
\frac{x^{2n-2}-1}{x^{2n}-x^{n+1}+x^{n-1}-1}=\frac{(x^{n-1}+1)(x^{n-1}-1)}{(x^{n+1}+1)(x^{n-1}-1)}=\frac{x^{n-1}+1}{x^{n+1}+1}
$

The result for equation is actually one. So, is my result information wrong or did you mistake?

I did see that your answer was 1, but I could not simplify my result further to achieve that answer.

I could not find a mistake in my simplification.

In order for the result to equal 1, the numerator and denominator would have to be the same. This is not the case, so my guess is the key is wrong.
