    Distance

    Two cities n miles a part are located s inches a part on a certain map that is drawn to scale. What is the distance, in inches, on the map between two cities that are n+1 miles apart?

    A n/s B (n+1)/s C s/(n+1) D s(n+1)/n E n/s(n+1

    I suppose they want you to setup a left and right statement and find the answer to x?

    On a map you usually see f.e 1:100... and 1 inch f.x would be the representation of a value hundred times that.

    It is a proportional description.

    ... so try solve this:

    \frac{s}{n} = \frac{x}{(n+1)}
