    How do I write an algebraic expression?

    The budget is $118,250. You will use 25% of your budget to rent business space and pay for utilities.

    Write an algebraic expression that indicates how much money will be spent on business space and utilities.

    I do not need to solve it, I just have to know how to write this as an expression?

    Well, it seems like a very simple problem to me, so the expression itself is going to also be very simple.

    Let s be the variable for business space and utilities.

    <br />
s = \frac{1}{4}(118250)<br />

    Hope that's what you were looking for.

    The purpose of the 1/4th fraction is its equivalence to 25%.

    25\% is a fraction of 25/100 or 0.25 (or 1/4). So 25\% of \$118250 is:

    0.25 \times 118250 dollars
