Simple Algebra Question
Hello Folks,

I am in need to figure this formula out. I will put it in the simplest terms:

Original Formula as noted:
y = (a * b/c * d) - e * f

If I were to enter it in to the computer as this:

y = ((a * b)/(c * d)) - (e * f)

it gives me different results.

1. Could you please advice me on how to separate the original formula with parenthesis?

2. Considering I have all the value's except f, how would I solve for f?

Of course it does, as these are different equations.

Which one is yours? What are the values for $y,b,a,c,e,d$ ?

Oh ok.

Lets say I have this:
y = (15*5.14/42*120) - .015*X

1. How would you further sperate this with parenthesis?

2. How you I solve for X when y is known?

Thanks again.

y = (15*5.14/42*120) - .015*X

y - (15*5.14/42*120) = - .015*X

(y - (15*5.14/42*120))/(- .015) = X
