1. ## Percentages

I've got a maths exam next week and i need to know how to work this question out for my revision so please could u show me:

Then she wrote this table to show her results:

No
80 people = 40 %
Yes
126 people = 60 %

The values in this table cannot all be correct.

(a) The error could be in the number of people. Complete each table to show what the correct numbers could be.

No
80 people = 40 %
Yes
......... people = 60 %

No
....... people = 40 %
Yes
126 people = 60 %

(b) The error could be in the percentages. Complete the table with the correct percentages.

No
80 people = .......... %
Yes
126 people = ......... %

2. Ans: (a)
No
80 people = 40 %
Yes
.....120.... people = 60 %

No
...84.... people = 40 %
Yes
126 people = 60 %

Ans: (b)
No
80 people = ..38.83........ %
Yes
126 people = ..61.17....... %
you may proceed to this sol as such
let total people= x
then x*40%=80
x=80*(100/40)
x=200
now 200-80=120
(b) for this part proceed as follow:
126+80=206
now (80/206)*100=38.83%
and (126/206)*100=61.17%
good luck
