    Hi shelbylynn,

    Just state the facts.

    Let r = Robert's age now
    Let r + 6 = William's age now

    Let r + 2 = Robert's age 2 yrs from now
    Let r + 6 + 2 = William's age 2 years from now.

In two years William will be twice as old as Robert:

    r + 8 = 2(r + 2)
