Consecutive integers means two numbers that are in line.

    example:

    $\displaystyle {1,2}$

    $\displaystyle {2,3}$

    $\displaystyle {13,14}$

So find two consecutive integers that when added together, equal 11.

Let the first number be $\displaystyle x$, then the next integer would be $\displaystyle x+1$

    so

    $\displaystyle x+(x+1)=11$

    $\displaystyle 2x+1=11$

    $\displaystyle 2x=10$

    $\displaystyle x=\frac{10}{2}$

    $\displaystyle x=5$

    so the numbers are

    $\displaystyle {5,6}$
