Q. Find values of a and b such that (2, -1) is a solution of the system.

{ax - by = 12
{bx + ay = -1

Please explain how you got to the answer as I don't even have the slightest clue how to do this one. Thank you!

If (2,-1) is a solution to the system, then x=2 and y=-1. Subsitute these values in your question, you have:





Can you find a and b now?
