|7-4x| = 12

so 7-4x = 12 or 7-4x = -12

x = -5/4 , x = 19/4

x ={-5/4,19/4}

|x| < a that means -a< x < a

-14 < 8x+2 < 14

-16 < 8x < 12

-2 < x < 3/2
