    Quadratic Equation Problem involving cylinders.

    Can someone help me with this question?

    A cylindrical can with height 12cm has capacity 600mL. What is its radius? (1mL = 1cm³)

    The volume is $\displaystyle 600\,\textrm{cm}^3$.

    The volume of a cylinder is $\displaystyle \pi r^2 h$.


    Therefore $\displaystyle 12\pi r^2 = 600$

    $\displaystyle \pi r^2 = 50$

    $\displaystyle r^2 = \frac{50}{\pi}$

    $\displaystyle r = \sqrt{\frac{50}{\pi}}$.
