    Quadratic Equation Problem involving cylinders.

    Can someone help me with this question?

    A cylindrical can with height 12cm has capacity 600mL. What is its radius? (1mL = 1cm³)

    The volume is 600\,\textrm{cm}^3.

    The volume of a cylinder is \pi r^2 h.


    Therefore 12\pi r^2 = 600

    \pi r^2 = 50

    r^2 = \frac{50}{\pi}

    r = \sqrt{\frac{50}{\pi}}.
