    Solve the Word problem

    The sum of the three numbers is 0. The first, minus the second, plus 2 times the third is -1. The third, plus 5 times the first, plus the second, is 16. What are the numbers

    Answer (4, -1, -3)

    Is the equation
    x+y+z=0
    x-y+2z=-1
    5x+y+z=16

    Hi

    Your equations are correct
    You can solve by eliminating y
    1st + 2nd : 2x+3z=-1 => 3z=-2x-1
    2nd + 3rd : 6x+3z=15 => 3z=-6x+15
    Therefore -2x-1=-6x+15 which leads to x=4
