A survey was given to 2000 college students questioning them on the topics of Capital Punishment and on Gun Control. The following information was gathered.

590 favored both Capital Punishment and stricter Gun Control
    950 favored stricter Gun Control
735 favored Capital Punishment but did not favor stricter Gun Control

    a. You should draw a Venn Diagram and then answer the questions.

    b. How many favored Capital Punishment?

    c. How many favored stricter Gun Control but did not favor Capital Punishment?

You draw the venn diagram, I'll explain:

    2000 students.

    590 favored both
    735 favored only capital punishment
    950 - 590 = 360 favored only stricter gun control.

    Given that, 2000 - (590 + 735 + 360) = 2000 - 1685 = 315 approved of neither.

For b, you need those that favored only capital punishment + both

For c, you need ONLY gun control

For d, as long as one is true, the whole statement is true, so you need people who want gun control, only + people who want capital punishment, only + people who want both

For e, whatever remains must be the answer.
