line one 8x-11y=-26
line two 4x-13y=2

(x,y)

(7,2) are they on line 1, line 2, both or neither?
(4,-9) on line 1, line 2, both or neither?
(5,6) line 1, line 2 or neither?

8(7)-11(2) = -26
56 - 22 = -26
34 = -26
false; thus, (7,2) is not in line 1. Do the same for each coordinate.

The simplest way to check whether the poits falll on a line or not is to put the given point (i mean values of x and y cordinates (x,y)) in the given equation;if both the left hand side( imean the equation part to the left of= sign) is equal to righrt hand side, poits lie on the line

(5,6) line 1, line 2 or neither?

put 8 (5)-11(6)=-26
40-66=-26
-26 =-26 yeah true true......so point (5,6) lies on line 1
