    Radical Equation Word Problem Dealing With d = rt

    This is from Algebra I.

    A long distance trucker traveled 108 miles in one direction during a snow storm. The return trip in rainy weather was accomplished at double the speed and took 3 hours less time. Find the speed going.

    rt = 108

    returning ...

    (2r)(t-3) = 108

    solve the system for r.
