    Hello,

    Please help solve this equation for x:

    I tried taking logs, but it didn't seem to help that much. Thanks!

    It came from the formula for the present value of a bond:



    I would like to be able to express x as a function of the other terms. Thanks!

    Multiplying both sides by c- bx, (c- bx)(1+ x^n)= c+ bx. That is an n degree polynomial equation. There is no general formula for solving that.
