# How is this sequence generated please?

How is this sequence generated please?
I need to describe how the following sequence is generated... but fail to understand the link

1, 4, 16, 25, 36, …

I can see that the first term is 1 squared, the 2nd is 2 squared, the 3rd is not 3 squared but four squared??? how come?

Is there something I've missed out?

Hi Natasha1,

I think the third term has been left out, don't you? Otherwise, it makes no sense to me.

Is this still stuff for your 11-yr old daughter?

There's no printing mistake. Can anyone help spot the actual link?

maybe these are the missing terms ...

$3^2, 7^2 , 12^2, 18^2 , ...$
