    Rational Exponents

    a^5/3 - a^1/3 * b^4/3 (over) a^2/3 + b^2/3

    I know I have to multiply the entire thing by a^2/3 - b^2/3 (over) a^2/3 - b^2/3

    I don't know where to go after that though.

    Factor: . \frac{a^{\frac{1}{3}}\left(a^{\frac{4}{3}} - b^{\frac{4}{3}}\right)}{a^{\frac{2}{3}} + b^{\frac{2}{3}}} \;\;\begin{array}{cc}\Leftarrow & \text{The numerator is a difference of squares!} \\ \\ \end{array}


    Factor: . \frac{a^{\frac{1}{3}}\left(a^{\frac{2}{3}} - b^{\frac{2}{3}}\right)\left(a^{\frac{2}{3}} + b^{\frac{2}{3}}\right)}   {a^{\frac{2}{3}} + b^{\frac{2}{3}}}


    Reduce: . a^{\frac{1}{3}}\left(a^{\frac{2}{3}} - b^{\frac{2}{3}}\right)
