# Math Help - Simplifing binomial product... I think?

1. ## Simplifing binomial product... I think?

I really need the answers to these binomial products....

(x+1)2-(x+1)(x-1)+(x-1)2=

(2a+3)(a-1)+(a-1)2-(a-1)(a+1)=

(m2-8)(m+2)-(m2+8m+2)(m-3)=

Thanks

2. btw all the 2's after the numbers are all ment to representing to the power of 2 thingiy

3. ## expand and factor

$(x+1)^2-(x+1)(x-1)+(x-1)^2$

expand the brackets

$x^2+2x+1-x^2+1+x^2-2x+1= x^2+3$

==================================
$(2a+3)(a-1)+(a-1)2-(a-1)(a+1)$

factor out $(a-1)$

$(a-1)(2a+3+2-a-1)
\rightarrow
(a-1)(a+4)
\rightarrow
a^2+3x-4
$

==========================
$(m^2-8)(m+2)-(m^2+8m+2)(m-3)$
again expand the brackets and combine like terms you should get
$-3m^2+14m-10$
