    Help word problem

    This is a 2 part question.

    Your patient has an order of blood cells to infuse over 4 hours. The volume of the bag is 327 mL.

    A)You calculate the flow rate as __________mL/hr.

    B)You would set the gravity drip rate as________gtt/min with tubing that has a drop factor of 10 gtt/mL

    help word problem

    Hello Karen,

    For this problem you calculate the volume required in ml per min.
    327 divided by 4x60 = ml per min=1.36. Since 10 drops = 1ml you need more than 10 so you multiply 1.36 by 10 =13,6 drops per min.
