    algebra help

    if 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 > 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/y then y could be which of the following?


    (A) 6 (B) 7 (C) 8 (D) 9 (E) 10

    Take 1/5 and 1/6 from both sides

    1/7 > 1/y

    Assume that y > 0 so we don't have a sign change and cross multiply

    y > 7
