    Need Help With Word Problem

    How many chickens are raised for food each second in the United States? They give the following info: 8 billion chickens raised for food each year in the U.S. and they tell me that there are approx. 32 million seconds in a year.

    My issue with this problem is that i do not understand the logic of why the chickens would get divided by the seconds and not the other way around. Is it as simple as that they mentioned the chickens first in the problem therefore they are divided by what is mentioned next?

    they want to know how many chickens per second which is chickens/second
    that = 80bil./32mil.
    so divide 80billion by 32million
    does that clear it up
