1. ## Algebra equation Help

I kinda suck at word problems so can someone please tell me what the two equations are?

"The school newspaper sells two sizes of advertisements. A small advertisement sells for $25 and a large advertisement sells for$35. The newspaper sold twice as many small advertisements as it did large advertisements for a total for $935. How many of each advertisement did it sell?" 2. let x be the number of large advertisements the newspaper sells, then 2x is the number of small ads it sells since this is twice as much. since large ads are sold for $35, the money gained for selling large ads is 35x, since small ads are for$25, the money gained from small ads are 25(2x)

so we have:

35x + 25(2x) = 935
=> 35x + 50x = 935
=> 85x = 935
=> x = 935/85 = 11 ........this is the number of large ads sold

so 2x = 22 .....................this is the number of small ads sold
