Please help dyscalculia sufferer save face!!!
Hi! This is probably an unusual thread but I was hoping that someone might be able to help me pose a face saving argument for an error I have made at work!!
I have fairly severe dyslexia and dyscalculia, in other areas of life I do o.k but with maths I have huge problems!
I have made a very embarrassing mistake at work and wondered whether anyone could help me form a reasonable or humorous response?
My boss asked me to make an indexing system for the folders in the office. I went for a decimal system but in my stupid lateral thought process it went- 1.1 then 1.2 etc then for the next set 2.1,2.2,2.3 etc unfortunately a few sets of folders had more than 10 folders so at the 10th folder onwards I did 1.10, 1.11, 1.12 etc
I hope that was explained o.k. Basically my decimals just added up and passed .10 which, i guess, makes no sense in a math term.
My question is, Is there any other known indexing systems that would or have followed that rule i.e 1.1 - 1.2 - 1.3 -1.4 - 1.5 - 1.6 - 1.7 - 1.8 - 1.9 - 1.10 - 1.11 - 1.12 etc?
In my job so far I have managed to hide my numeracy issues pretty well and although I get on great with my boss we rib each other about personal Faux pas, I will never live this down!!!
Any help greatly appreciated!!!!
