Use the formula for the quadratic roots: $\displaystyle \Delta=b^2-4ac$ where $\displaystyle a=2, \ b=17, \ c=3$ and $\displaystyle x_{1,2}=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{\Delta}}{2a}$
Thank you
