$\displaystyle x=8^{\frac{1}{3}}$ $\displaystyle x^3=8^{\frac{1}{3}}8^{\frac{1}{3}}8^{\frac{1}{3}}= 8^{\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}}$ $\displaystyle x^3=8^1=8$ x= the cube root of 8 1(1)1=1 2(2)2=4(2)=8 3(3)3=9(3)=27 etc
