    Transposition Help

    I would be most grateful if someone could help me with the following transposition, basically I’m trying to rearrange an equation to match an answer sheet I have; I’m sure this is simple but if anyone can describe the steps that would be great.

    o.k my equation is:

    v = -1 / -kt+c

    I know that this can be simplified to:

    v = 1 / kt-c

    I’m just not sure how I get there, thanks.

    multiply the fraction by \frac{-1}{-1}

    Thanks, but can you actually provide the steps as I cannot see how this gets rid of the minus sign in front of the k (I see that it will change the t+c to t-c)?

    \frac{-1}{-1} \cdot \frac{-1}{-kt+c} = \frac{(-1)(-1)}{-1(-kt+c)} = \frac{1}{kt - c}
