math help basic algebra

I used to be a physics major when I was in college. That was when I was about 19, about seven years ago. I completely lost all of my math skills, even the basic things. I'm joining the Army and they have pretty simple questions on the ASVAB (military entrance test.)

I need help solving the equations. I need an explanation and all that good stuff. Is this the right forum?

I'll start with the first question: If Lynn can type a page in p minutes, what piece of the page can she do in 5 minutes?

If im in the wrong forum, just tell me, thanx.

The answers are:A. 5/p
B. p - 5
C. p + 5
D. p/5
E. 1- p + 5
