...Hi, i have this word problem that i need to solve, however i'm not really sure how to start it...
Help would be much appreciated.
A person standing close to the edge of a 200 foot tall builfing throws a baseball upward, such that its height above the ground in feet, s(t), after t seconds, is given by s(t)=-16t^2+64t+200
a) How long will it take for the ball to hit the ground?
set s(t) = 0 and solve for t
b) When will the ball reach its maximum height?
find the vertex of the graph of s(t) ... t = -b/(2a)
c) What is the max height the ball reaches?
evaluate s(t) for the time found in part (b)
