1. ## Algebra 2 help

Need help with Algebra 2 test
ok i have a study guide and cant seem to find the answers or how to do it
can anyone write the steps of these problems
8x to the 3 power +1
*8x^3+1

*(x-2)^3

* 5(2u+3)>2(u-3)+u

i have the answer but dont know how to do them

what are you trying to do with these expressions? Solve them? If so what are they equal to? or maybe graph them?

You need to give us more information. At the moment they are just numbers on a page.

The first is a sum of cubes. Factor according to the formula that you were given. $a=2x$ and $b=1$.

I assume that you are to expand the second. So foil...

For the third

$5(2u+3)>2(u-3)+u$
Get rid of the parentheses by distributing
$10u+15>2u-6+u$
$10u+15>3u-6$
$7u>-21$
$u>-3$

4. factor the first one
multiply the second one
solve the last one

exactly.

6. for the second one the answer is x^3-6x^2+12x-8
i did foil but i dont know how to get the 12x

$(x-2)^3=(x-2)(x^2-4x+4)=x^3-4x^2+4x-2x^2+8x-8$

Now collect like terms.

To use the word exactly, no assumptions would be required?

I tutor math at a college. I deal with this every day.

10. thank you
