    I assume that your problem reads like this:

    (6x-1)/5 - (2x)/3 = 3 Multiply both sides by 15 to get rid of the denominators:

    3(6x-1) - 5*(2x) = 45 Expand the bracket

    18x-3 - 10x = 45 Collect like terms, constants at the RHS:

    8x = 48 Divide by 8

    x = 6
