# Math Help - Area of quadrilateral

I am having problems doing the following (please have a look at the attached figure):

A diagonal of a quadrilateral is 40 m long & the perpendiculars to it from the opposite corners are 8 m & 10 m respectively. Find its area. Here
AC=40 m, DE=8 m & BF=10m.

area of quadrilateral = $Area \triangle ADC + Area \triangle ABC$

$Area \triangle ADC = \frac{1}{2}\times AC \times DE$

$Area \triangle ABC = \frac{1}{2}\times AC \times BF$
