[SOLVED] Writing sytems of equations?
At the school play on Friday night, 120 tickets were sold. Student tickets cost \$5 each and Adult tickets cost \$7 each. The total sales for the evening were \$670. How many of each type of ticket were sold?

How would I write a system of equations that represent this problem?

Hi deekay930

Let : x = student ticket and y = adult ticket

So :
1) total 120 tickets means that ..... (related to x and y)

2) total money \$670 means that....(related to x and y, if you sold x @ \$5 and y @ \$7 )
