This forum is for basic math questions relating to any sort of arithmetic, solving for x problems, 2-d graphing, logarithms and things like this.

If your question contains anything concerning limits, end behavior or basic function analysis put it in the Pre-Calc forum. If you question has anything to do with Calculus, meaning derivatives, integrals and all applications of these, put it in the Calculus forum. If your question is about anything other than basic matrix calculations, like adding, scalar multiplication and determinants of 2x2 matrices, it should go in the Linear Algebra forum.

These are some good examples but not completely comprehensive. Use your head when selecting the forum you make your thread in and it will get you help faster.

Thank you.

What if it's a complicated problem involving more than one type of math lol

Then use your best judgement and place it where you think it belongs.

For someone like me, i dont allways know in what Forum my posts belong as i dont have a very deep methematical background.

For example i recently posted a question about Triangular Numbers, and wasnt sure in what Forum it belonged.

use your best judgement ... one of the mods will move it if necessary.

My advice: Take your best shot at where it should go. If it's in the wrong place it will likely get moved by someone. I'm only worried about cases like if you, say, post questions in the New Users Forum, or post simple addition problems in the Advanced Algebra Forum, and the like on a frequent basis. (Get it? "basis" "Advanced Algebra"?? (Sun) )
