There are three numbers in the ratio of 2:3:4. The sum of their squares is 464. find the numbers.

Set it up this way: The numbers will be represented as 2x, 3x, and 4x.

The sum of their squares will be represented:

$(2x)^2+(3x)^2+(4x)^2=464$

Solve for x (there will be two of them...one + and one -).

Then determine your three numbers by multiplying by 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
